about

This song is a gentle reminder not to give in to fear, but to accept what is happening around you with grace and courage.

***This song was not written about Coronavirus. It is about the human race discovering that a comet will hit it, in (say) three or four minutes time. The sudden realisation that there is no more time; that we will all go down together; the comradeship, the beauty and purity of the final moment.

lyrics

I can't fathom any day, let alone this very day, and can you notice my fear through my trembling hands?
And right this moment can you see, that I'm so glad of your company? And suddenly my eyes they see, through your chest, through your skin, through your bones, straight to your heart.

And though we never met before this night, I would never tell you a lie.
It's a good day to die, it's a good day to die, it's a good a day as any.
It's a good day to laugh, it's a good day to cry, when your pockets are jingling with shrapnel and pennies.

So turn to the stranger beside you, look him deep in the eye, tell him your secrets and hold him close, and watch that comet fly through the sky.
Let's watch the human race descend. Will there be no time for lovers and friends? And though your a stranger you comfort me, so please, let's stick together, right till the end.

And though we never met before this night, I would never tell you a lie.
It's a good day to die, it's a good day to die, it's a good a day as any.
It's a good day to laugh, it's a good day to cry, when your belly is full anf your purse is empty.

It's a good day to die, it's a good day to die, it's a good a day as any.
It's a good day to laugh, it's a good day to cry, when your life has been full, now the whole world is empty.

It's a good day to die, it's a good day to die, it's a good a day as any.
It's a good day to laugh, it's a good day to cry, when your life has been full, now the whole world is empty.
